Eye Candy of the Day: Wolf Song

Take a dip in Pre-code Hollywood!

Rumor has it that this 1929 film starring off-screen lovers Lupe Valez and Gary Cooper contains a complete nude scene, some of which is glimpsed here.

I've never seen Wolf Song but what survives of this lost classic looks interesting. You can see a clip of disheveled Gary Cooper and Lupe Valez cutting a rug on Youtube. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who knows how to get a copy of this film, has any images from it or any other information on it. So c'mon and share your Wolf Song.

Extra special Thanks to Coops Girl for the image and info.

This silent movie is billed as a "partial talkie" because it has three musical numbers including, "Yo te amo."

There is a wonderful actor from pre-code named Warren William. Mostly at Warner Brothers in the early thirties and made some terrific movies then. He could play anything from the most lecherous scoundrel to a sympathetic put-upon to a screwball romantic lead. A few of his early movies are Beauty and the Boss, Skyscraper Souls, Dark Horse, Three on a Match, Under Eighteen, Employees Entrance and Goodbye Again.

William was also film's first Perry Mason and he also took turns as the P.I. Philo Vance and the Lone Wolf in respective series. If you haven't had the chance, check him out. A very fun guy to watch.

I don't know if he goes back literally pre-code or not, but I've been flabbergasted (or would that be flubbergasted?) by how effective and wonderful Fred MacMurray was in his movies with Carole Lombard. Hands Across the Table and True Confession (1935 & '37) are particularly nice.

Looking at his IMDb listings... he was an extra in a 1929 movie entitled Girls Gone Wild. Now THAT would be fun to get ahold of!

This movie is very romantic. When I saw the nude scene I could feel much romance in it. The song "te amo" is very inspiring. I think this guy took viagra online because he looks so handsome.

My grandmother was a fan of this guy, she always talked about him, maybe that is why I was named Wolfgang. Thanks grandma.
